NALSAROVAR BIRD SANCTUARY :-
Nal sarovar bird sanctuary is situate in the district of Surendranagar, Gujarat, India. This bird sanctuary is consisting primarily of a 120.82 square – kilometre lake and ambient marshes. It is locate about 64 km to the west of Ahmedaba near Sanand Village, in Gujarat State of India. Mainly inhabited by migratory birds in winter and spring.
ABOUT BIRD SANCTUARY :-
Consequently It is the largest wetland bird sanctuary in Gujarat and one of the largest in India. In April 1969, it was declare as bird sanctuary. Likewise over 210 species of birds in the winter attracts the lake. Finally the harbors a variety of plants and animals.
It was propose as a “Ramsar Convention site – wetland of international airport. On 24 September,2012 nalsarovar was declare as a Ramsar. Since 2005 it is only that lake has been declare as Ramsar site in India. There are 140 water birds and 70 of them are migratory. Similarly out of these 70, only 25 to 30 are easily observe by the visitors and tourists. The interpretation centre focuses on these 30 species. Therefore this palce is worth visiting.
