NARMADA / SARDAR SAROVAR DAM :-
Narmada dam is also call as Sardar Sarovar Dam. It is situate in Bharuch District, Gujarat. People especially from Bharuch and Surat will definitely enjoy and celebrate their Birthdays with their friends and family by travelling from Bharuch to the Dam site. Bharuch is the oldest city of Gujarat and is locate at the mount of river Narmada.
ABOUT DAM :-
It is a centre of international trade and has a rich archaeological and mythological history too. Near Navagam, the Sardar Sarovar Dam is a gravity dam on the Narmada river, Gujarat in India. So Indian states like Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Rajasthan are the states which are receiving water electricity supply from the dam.
On April 5, 1961 the foundation of stone of project was laid by the Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. One of the 30 dams plan on river Narmada, Sardar Sarovar Dam (SSD) is the largest structure to be build. It is one of the largest dam in the world.
The dam’s mian power plant houses six 200 MW Francis pump-turbines to generate electricity. The dam is one of India’s most controversial, and its environmental impact and net costs and benefits are widely debate. The first phase consists of placing panels along a 25 km length of canal, with capacity for up to 25 MW of power.
